EASY PEEL HARD COOKED EGGS
This method of “hard boiling” eggs doesn’t cook by boiling, but steaming! Your fresh eggs will peel easier and you won’t have to wait for water to boil.
Makes: 6 Servings
Total time:
Ingredients:
- 6 fresh eggs
- Water
Tools:
- Medium sized pot with lid
- Steamer basket
- Tongs
- Timer
- Bowl of ice water: optional
Instructions:
- Place steamer basket in the pot and add water so that it just touches the bottom of the basket, cover and turn burner to high until water begins to boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-high, remove the lid, and with tongs carefully place eggs into the steamer basket and cover with lid.
- Set timer to 6 minutes for soft cooked eggs, 8 minutes for medium cooked eggs, or 10-15 minutes for hard cooked eggs.
- While eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with ice and water.
